Take The Tour

For Denise Whittemore of Ramsey Solutions, it all started with the “I Had No Idea Tour.”

“I first got involved with Nashville Rescue Mission after taking a tour of the campus,” said Denise. “I wanted to see first-hand how the Mission operates and see the faces of the people who were being served.”

Her compassion for people in need prompted her interest. “I recognize that many people are hurting because they’ve gone through something difficult in their life,” shared Denise. “It might have been something out of their control, and it’s what led them to be in this hard situation.”

The tour and her own experiences were the catalysts for bringing teams from Ramsey Solutions to serve. It would allow them to help people in need while also connecting with the community.

“I fell in love with what the Mission does to help people experiencing homelessness in our city,” said Denise. “They pray for, love on, and care for each person as a whole while showing them the love of God.”

Over the past five years, Ramsey Solutions has teams serving throughout the year. “Our primary focus is in November when the company (950 team members) serves all over the community,” shared Denise. But our teams really enjoy serving lunch to the guests and sorting items in the warehouse at the Mission.”

“The Mission goes above and beyond to help others.”

The Mission goes above and beyond to help others. We’re grateful for the different opportunities they give us to serve. We serve to show the love of Jesus, but often it’s the people we’re serving who show us Jesus’ love and brighten our day.”

Denise says, the best part about volunteering—“You will be ministered to more at the Mission than anything you give at the Mission that day. You will be changed just by seeing the smiling faces of the people you get to serve and hearing their stories when they get a plate of food.”

Please join us for the next “I Had No Idea” tour—an exciting, life-changing experience as you meet staff and guests—and see your gifts in action. You will never think of homelessness the same way.
