Who We Are

As we seek out genuine opportunities for others to engage life with dignity, strength, and health, Nashville Rescue Mission works in community collaboration to provide hope for today, tomorrow, and eternity.

We are driven by the desire to share the Gospel, and we strive each day to spread this unending message of hope.

History

In 1954, the Mission opened its doors to provide food, clothing and shelter to homeless men in the Nashville community. In 1968, the Mission expanded to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of homeless women and children in the community.

Nashville Rescue Mission is a Christ-centered community dedicated to providing hope for today, tomorrow and eternity to the hungry, homeless and hurting in Middle Tennessee.

Mission Statement

Providing hope for today, hope for tomorrow, and hope for eternity to the hungry, homeless, and hurting.

Our Core Values

Statement of Faith

  • We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the infallible Word of God.

  • We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is Deity, He was born of a virgin, we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood, He bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven, and

  • He will come again in power and great glory.

  • We believe people are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer enabling them to live a godly life of obedience as they reach for maturity.

  • We believe the Holy Spirit unites all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and together they form one body, the church.
