Over 2,000 Meals Will Be Served to Homeless On July 4th at Nashville Rescue Mission
NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Nashville Rescue Mission will celebrate America’s birthday by serving
over 2,000 meals to homeless men, women and children in the community on July 4th, 2013, at
noon in the parking lot at 639 Lafayette Street. In addition to hot dogs and hamburgers, guests will
enjoy live music from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along with snow cones, face painting and a jump
house for the kids. It will be a wonderful day for the entire family.
“There are many in our community who are hurting, hungry, homeless and in need of hope,” said
Glenn Cranfield, President and CEO of Nashville Rescue Mission. “It’s not just the homeless who
will join us to celebrate the holiday. We’ll see men, women and children who have faced hard times
and are doing their best to get by. Regardless of a person’s situation or circumstance, the Mission’s
doors are open to anyone who would like to join us in celebrating America’s birthday. Not only will
they receive a fantastic meal, they will be welcomed with a smile.”
You can help make it a festive 4th of July for the homeless by dropping off donations of the
following items: hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, condiments, soft drinks, bottled water, potato chips
and cookies at the Mission’s Donation Center, located at 616 7th Ave. S, Nashville, TN 37203. It is
open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. Or you can make an online donation at
