Interview with Charlie Tallent, owner of Katy’s Hallmark

How did you first get involved with the Mission?

Having moved to Nashville from Atlanta in 2006, we were not knowledgeable of the many local charities in the community. So, we asked some of our employees what charity would they recommend. Beth, our embroidery specialist, suggested Nashville Rescue Mission. I still remember her telling me what an amazing job the Mission does in helping the homeless.

What do you think is the most important thing Nashville Rescue Mission does? 

Nashville Rescue Mission gives people who have fallen on difficult times a new foundation and starting point, to put their lives back together. 

What would you tell someone who is thinking of supporting Nashville Rescue Mission? 

What a difference they can make with even a very small donation. It’s amazing what the Mission is able to accomplish with only $2.26! Your gift will be efficiently and effectively used to give a helping hand to the less fortunate in Middle Tennessee.

What do you think people need to know about giving to the Mission?

There are a lot of people in need in Middle Tennessee. Nashville Rescue Mission is assisting over 7,500 individuals annually. I had no idea the need was this large in our community.
