The Lord Will Provide: Letter from the Mission

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 NIV

For a person who has little to nothing, it is hard not to desire more in life. A mother fallen on hard times and unsure how she will feed, clothe or shelter her children, much less educate them, may find it hard to believe God has not left her or forsaken her. And yet, we are told, time and again, God will always be there and always care for us, from the greatest to the least.

This is why the Nashville Rescue Mission exists. From the greatest to the least, we are here to provide for God’s people. Here at the Mission, we strive to provide for our clients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs. We exist to show God’s love to those who feel neglected and lost in the world.

As the temperature drops and the nights get colder, we are especially concerned about the health and welfare of the homeless living on the streets. The Nashville Rescue Mission stands ready to help those in need, even sending out our “cold patrol” on the coldest of nights to pick up the homeless and bring them to our shelter for a hot meal and a warm bed.

With your help, we are able to help those who are unable to help themselves. Unfortunately, in the current state of our economy, we are seeing more homeless women, mothers and children come to the Mission. The need for our services is on the rise and with the Lord’s help and yours, we will continue to provide for those in need.

Our hope in sending you our newsletter each month is that we may give thanks to the Lord and make known His work here at the Nashville Rescue Mission. He has been so good to us. Our prayers are filled with the cry that He will continue to show you His work here at the Mission and continue to move your heart toward His ministry here.
 
As a non-profit ministry, we rely on the generosity of His people, people like you, to keep our doors open to the public. We can’t do what we do without you. However, your support does much more than feed, clothe and shelter our neighbors in need. Your friendship reminds us daily that God provides for His people and for that reason we are blessedly content with all we have.

Your support of the Nashville Rescue Mission means we are able to bring our hurting neighbors out of the cold and, hopefully, into the warm, loving arms of Christ so they may be continually refreshed from streams of living water that never run dry.
