Nashville Rescue Mission Benefits from “Extreme Volunteering” by Aaron’s during National Managers Meeting
NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Aaron’s, Inc. (NYSE: AAN), the nation’s leader in the sales and lease
ownership and specialty retailing of residential furniture, consumer electronics, home appliances
and accessories, will hold its annual national store managers meeting, March 26, 2013, in Nashville,
Tennessee. Now in its fifth year, Aaron’s associates will dedicate four hours of their meeting time to
“Extreme Volunteering”—a large-scale outreach effort to community projects. Their efforts will
benefit several local non-profits in the community, including Nashville Rescue Mission.
This year marks Aaron’s first visit to Nashville for its national meeting and community service
endeavor. During this four-hour volunteer blitz, over 2,000 Aaron’s associates will be volunteering
throughout the community. In addition to this enormous outpouring of volunteer service, Aaron’s is
also giving back through generous donations of furniture and various accessories.
While at Nashville Rescue Mission, Aaron’s will be furnishing 40 rooms, each with two new beds
(including frame, mattress and bedding), two dressers and night stands, two desks with chairs, a
microwave, refrigerator, rugs, TVs, lamps and artwork. These rooms serve as transitional housing
for men starting their new lives after graduating the Mission’s life-recovery program. Aaron’s is
also updating the furniture and furnishing in the Mission’s library, coffee house and lounge area.
“It is a great honor for Nashville Rescue Mission to be among those selected by Aaron’s to benefit
from their time in our wonderful city,” said Glenn Cranfield, President and CEO of Nashville
Rescue Mission. “We are overwhelmed by their generosity and impressed with their commitment.
The rooms will be ready for the men to move into that night and sleep in their new beds. Not only
will Aaron’s efforts bless the guests we serve, but their gifts and service will in turn bless the entire
community.”
In addition to Nashville Rescue Mission, Aaron’s will also be donating and volunteering their time
on March 26, at several other non-profits in the Nashville community.
