He is Our HOPE

Don WorrellAs much as I look forward to summer, I also dread the struggles that come with the season, especially for those we serve. Some families take vacations and many plan various recreational activities…enjoying everything summer has to offer. Sounds great, doesn’t it? It does to me, too.

Yet, I still face questions like, how will the Mission help those in need when money gets tight? What will we do when food and clothing donations drop off?

No matter how bad we perceive our struggles to be here at the Mission or how tight we’ve had to budget ourselves, there are people in our own backyard who are worse off.

“My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is from Him. ”
–Psalm 62:5 NASB

In Christ, we always have hope. But what about the men, women and children who enter our doors? What hope do they have?

In the words of an old familiar hymn it says, “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus’ Name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.”

At the Nashville Rescue Mission we share hope with our guests daily through your faithful support. We give our concerns to God as well as our gratitude.
