As the familiar song “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” says, “He’s making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who’s naughty and nice…” But what if you’re nice and you still don’t expect to get any presents?
Imagine being a homeless child at Christmas and not having a home to call your own, much less a tree with presents under it? Imagine having no food to eat, much less a place to go to enjoy a special dinner with your family? Imagine spending the holiday with only painful memories.
At the Nashville Rescue Mission, we can’t imagine it. That’s why we do all we can to make the season bright for all who stay with us. A traditional Christmas meal and desserts, warm clothing, new gifts and stockings filled with personal care items are gifts we provide with the help of the Nashville community.
As you head off with your Christmas list to do all your holiday shopping, be sure to check it twice. Perhaps you can find some room on that list to add a few items from our Christmas Wish List for the homeless living at the Nashville Rescue Mission.
With your help, we can make an enormous difference this Christmas to those who are without hope.
Participate in our “Present Drive” by dropping off an unwrapped gift at our Donation Center NOW through Wednesday, December 15, 2010. We are looking for over 700 new gifts and need your help.
Our donation center is located at 616 7th Avenue South and is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Download the Christmas Wish List.
