You are a lifeline for women like Marie

Marie is a proud mother and grandmother. Coming to America from Cameroon to help feed and care for her grandsons was a truly wonderful experience. It was a great help to the family not having to pay for childcare.

When her son’s marriage collapsed and ended in divorce, Marie went the extra mile to keep the family stable. Then came the terrible day when a woman claiming to be her son’s fiancée came into the picture.

Intent on getting Marie out of the house, the woman refused to offer any help, even when Marie’s cancer reappeared and sent her to the emergency room. Those were scary, and lonely, days—as she waited for loved ones to show up or to call. No one came. And her phone, which her son had paid for, was shut off. She can’t even access photos of her beautiful grandchildren.

“I almost died,” Marie says with tears in her eyes. “But when they called my son, he did not come.”

After being released from the hospital, Marie had no one to turn to and no place to go. The Lord brought her to Nashville Rescue Mission, where caring staff and volunteers are working to comfort and encourage her.

I don't want to live like this. But I needed help.

The team at Nashville Rescue Mission is working diligently to provide Marie with the meals, help, and the hope she needs to carry on. She also has her medical needs met and is getting assistance to acquire the documents she needs to move forward with housing. The hurt runs deep for Marie but because of friends like you helping to provide loving care, she is trusting in God and taking the steps needed to build a brighter future.

Thank you for your support of Nashville Rescue Mission, which was a literal lifeline for Marie during a terrible time.
