At 73, W.B. will be the first to tell you he has much to be thankful for. He’s worked hard his whole life at a rewarding job, and he’s raised eight wonderful children. But then came a day when he found himself with no place to call home . . .
When W.B. was faced with dark days, he called Nashville Rescue Mission where he had friends who’d helped him in the past.
The Mission, he knew, would help him get back on his feet, back in touch with the Lord, and on a new path in life.
“I called, and they told me to come on down,” W.B. says, remembering the difficult day when he found the courage to make the call. “The Mission said, ‘Come and let’s see if we can help you.’”
He was welcomed with open arms.
Support from friends like you ensures that those among us who are facing hunger, homelessness, addiction, and other life-dominating challenges can receive lifesaving, life-changing, Christ-centered care. And that’s exactly what W.B. found.
With a safe place to sleep, and the support of many praying friends, W.B. began to rebuild his life at Nashville Rescue Mission. “I got myself together,” he says. “I just feel blessed. The sky is the limit!”
W.B. deeply values his faith, so when asked about the greatest gift he’s received from Nashville Rescue Mission, he doesn’t hesitate, saying, “The Bible studies. We went from Genesis through Revelation. Our counselors were well trained and taught us well.”
So many families and individuals turn to the Mission each day facing trials and hardships that can lead to despair. But through your support, all who come through the Mission doors can count on a meal . . . and so much more.
Today, W.B. is trusting in the Lord to guide his next steps, and he is deeply grateful for the compassion and generosity of the Mission’s donors who have delivered him to a place where, indeed, “the sky is the limit!”
Please stand with Nashville Rescue Mission again today to share meals, help, and hope with any neighbor who is in great need now.
