Many of our employee-owners became aware of the Mission through our churches initially, but our corporate involvement began in 2009 when we started giving employee donations and wish list collections to Nashville Rescue Mission at Christmas. In 2015, we then partnered with the Mission on our first significant construction project. After witnessing the Mission’s efforts first hand, we have substantially increased our donations and offer multiple opportunities for our team members to volunteer.
At first, many of our employee-owners were supporting Nashville Rescue Mission on a personal basis. Our first major company donation coincided with our company becoming employee-owned in 2016. As part of our annual employee celebration, we requested our team members bring in donations. We proudly presented 2 full truck loads of food and a $15,000 check to the Mission. Another highlight was participating in the annual Turkey Fry last year for the first time; we loved it! Seeing so many people come together for a day of service was uplifting and inspiring for everyone in attendance.
The Mission responds to many needs each day – personal care, meals, and shelter. Their emergency services meet a critical need for men, women, and children, especially when the temperatures are freezing or very hot. This service provides a safe place for people that typically do not have anywhere else to go. Beyond this, a crucial aspect of their service is the Life Recovery Programs.
We want the community to know the number of people helped on any given day happens in so many ways: through the number of meals served, the number of people housed, and the number of lives impacted and changed through the ministry and Life Recovery Program.
Supporting Nashville Rescue Mission is truly supporting our community. Doing so helps improve the quality of life for Nashvillians. Every gift goes directly to our local community to ensure that compassionate care is provided to anyone in need.
