Supporter Spotlight: Mike Curb

SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT – An interview with Mike Curb, founder of Curb Records and the Mike Curb Foundation

Tell us how you first get involved with Nashville Rescue Mission.

Tell us how you first got involved with Nashville Rescue Mission. I first got involved with the Mission through a relationship with the President and CEO, Glenn Cranfield. As I saw evidence of all the great work the Mission does, it was an easy decision for me to get the Curb Foundation more involved. Over the last several years, we’ve sponsored meals around holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

What do you think is the most important thing the Mission does?

The Mission does many amazing things, including feeding, clothing, and providing shelter to men and women in the community who are experiencing homelessness. But I believe the most important thing they do is give hope to those in need.

What do you wish other people knew about Nashville Rescue Mission?

I believe the Mission is uniquely equipped to bring people out of the cycle of homelessness. I attribute this to their being fully supported through donations from people, businesses, and other organizations. I’ve seen other cities where shelters are government sponsored—they are good—but they don’t have the same flexibility the Mission has to have worship services and prayer—which I believe are powerful things when it comes to changing a person’s life.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about donating to the Mission?

I would say you can’t make a better investment than in Nashville Rescue Mission. It is a well-run organization. The Mission has extraordinary leadership and passionate staff. It’s one reason the Curb Foundation has committed a significant contribution to the Mission building a new campus for women and children. Giving to the Mission is one of the best investments you can make and something I intend to continue doing.
