An interview with Micah Lacher, principal of Anchor Rentals—
What prompted your first gift to the Mission?
I love that the Mission is outspoken about sharing the Gospel. I’ve always had a heart to help people who are down on their luck and wanted to give to a ministry that supports people in need so well. While I’ve personally supported the Mission for years, we were excited to expand that relationship once we opened our hotel business four years ago. I’ve enjoyed giving a percentage of profits to the Mission through our Rooms for Rooms program, which allows our guests to impact lives when they stay with us. I know our guests have been encouraged, knowing they are supporting our community while also staying in a very nice hotel.
What do you think is the most important thing the Mission does?
The Mission does a fantastic job of caring for people in need, but their care goes far beyond meeting basic and physical needs. They also care for individuals spiritually and help point them to what matters eternally. At Anchor Rentals, we support organizations that incorporate faith in their work, and the Mission does an amazing job of having Christ as the foundation upon which they impact lives.
What do you think people need to know about giving to the Mission?
When you give to the Mission, you can depend on them to steward your money well and keep you up to date on what is going on in the organization. Your donation will be received warmly and with an enormous amount of gratitude. They have been a partner of ours for a few years, and we are always confident the money we donate will go to furthering a message of hope and radical love.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about donating, volunteering, etc. to the Mission?
Whether it is a financial donation or a commitment of your time through volunteering—dive in. Over the years, we have been involved with the Mission in a multitude of ways, and every experience is one that leaves us impacted and inspired. You can feel the presence of genuine care and Christ-centered love throughout this organization. Using your time, prayer, and financial assets to serve others through the Mission will never be a waste.
