“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” -2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Another year has come and gone. Likely, lots of New Year’s resolutions were made and as sad as it may be, many have probably already been broken. Most of us start the new year with a fresh perspective and sincere hopes of a new beginning. Yet, in the midst of relying on our own strength, we lose hope.
At the Nashville Rescue Mission, we see new beginnings here every day. Hope is brought to hopeless men, women and children as they are introduced to the only One who can truly make an eternal change in their lives—Jesus Christ. When a person places their faith in Jesus, God inevitably transforms their life.
Although your generous gifts allow the Mission to provide food for the hungry and shelter for the homeless, they go much further than that. Your donations are being invested in the Kingdom of Heaven as lives are being changed through the power of the Gospel.
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” -C.S. Lewis
As you read this month’s newsletter, you’ll learn how some of our guests are finding their way off the streets for good. You’ll also read about a couple of faithful friends of the Mission who are finding their own ways of giving back.
As we look toward this new year together, and begin our 57th year of serving the homeless, we are extremely thankful for your partnership in ministry at the Nashville Rescue Mission. Our prayer is that you continue to invest in spreading the Good News to those in need.
May God bless you richly in 2011!
