Let Us Do Good: Letter from the Mission

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18 NIV

How grateful I am for the tremendous support of faithful partners like you!

We are only four months into 2009 and already it has been a hard year for everyone. Prices are higher. More people are out of work. Here in Middle Tennessee more people are becoming homeless, struggling to survive and to feed and care for themselves or their families. Nearly everyone has been affected in some way. But these hard times have also shown us just how many great friends the Nashville Rescue Mission has!

In the midst of an unstable economic environment, you have helped us provide thousands of meals and nights of safe shelter to some of the poorest people in our city. You have continued to give. You have brought clothing, bedding, shoes and food to the Mission. You have volunteered your time. You have remembered us and those we serve in your prayers.

We are truly grateful you have followed Paul’s admonition in Galatians 6:10, “as we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people.” Your support means so much to so many people.

Currently, we are in the process of expanding our facilities for women and children. We are seeing more homeless women and children than we have seen in the past. We need your help now more than ever before.

Please pray for those who are in need of a hot meal and a safe place to stay. Also, pray God will enable us to effectively use this opportunity to minister to the people who are coming to us for help. And if you’re in a position to make a financial contribution, know we will put your gift to work immediately. Thank you again for all you do for this ministry. God bless you!

Thank you for standing by the Nashville Rescue Mission! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of Nashville’s homeless and needy. May God bless you richly, just as He has used you to bless others.
