Nashville Rescue Mission’s Linda & Mike Curb Women’s Center is a safe harbor for mothers like Annie . . .
“I didn’t want to be around anybody. I didn’t want to go out,” Annie says, remembering the crippling depression that once gripped her. “God brought me out of that pit.”
In fact, He brought Annie and her children to the women and children’s campus and gave her family a safe place to call home while they rebuilt and prepared for a fresh start. “I felt very welcome when I first came, and I feel very safe here,” she says.
“This beautiful place helps us, and we [are] grateful. I’m grateful to everyone who is helping make sure we eat here . . . to all the workers, to all the volunteers, thank you so much. And thank you for the clothing closet where we’re able to get clothes.”
A lot has changed since Annie and her children first came through the doors here at Nashville Rescue Mission. She’s looking forward to a brighter future, and her faith is strong that God will guide her next steps.
“I’m working on my credit, and I was able to buy a car. I plan on moving into an apartment or house, and I want to go back to teaching. I want to teach others how to cope with depression,” Annie says. “And I want to grow my family and be the best grandma I can be.”
Thank you for supporting Nashville Rescue Mission’s Linda & Mike Curb Women’s Center and every outreach to ensure more women and children can be welcomed, kept safe, and prepared for a stronger, more secure future.
