“Thank you for giving us a roof over our heads.” —Diane

Her family needed shelter, a safe place to sleep, and help overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles. God led this frightened little family to Nashville Rescue Mission—and to caring friends like you.

“I was staying with someone before I came [to the Mission], and I didn’t like it,” Diane says, remembering the fear she felt for herself and her children. “I prayed about it, and it was like God said, ‘Go.’”

And “go,” she did, straight to Nashville Rescue Mission . . . a place where help and hope are always found, and where Christ-centered care makes a life-changing difference for many.

Just stepping through the Mission doors brought relief to this mother’s heart. “I felt very welcomed,” she says. “They gave me a lot. I have learned a lot of confidence, and I’ve been encouraged. The staff is wonderful. Very respectful and loving.”

The special care the Mission extends to mothers with children not only gives critical access to emergency services but also provides them with a firm foundation upon which to rebuild and regain independence.

“[They] have snack time [with the kids]. The staff [play and do] activities with the kids. They play with them outside. And they helped us sign up for [other programs] that provide clothes or shoes for the kids. They’re loving people. They love the kids and they love us,” Diane says with a smile.

Diane finds strength in the Christ-centered atmosphere at the Mission and enjoys every opportunity to pray and study with others. “There’s nothing like God’s Word,” she says. “I pray every day that I get closer and closer to Him and see what’s meant to be.”

Soon, Diane and her children will settle into their own home, equipped to stand strong as a family and seize every opportunity God puts in their path. But she will never forget the compassion and generosity of neighbors like you who truly made a difference for her and her little ones.

“I thank you for giving us a roof over our heads because there are some people who don’t have this. Just to know the Mission doors are always open is a good thing. I thank God we have people out here, like those at Nashville Rescue Mission, to help. I just thank God that I could come here.”

Thank you for building a bridge to a better tomorrow for mothers like Diane. Your support is providing hope for today, hope for tomorrow, and hope for eternity!
