In response to the rising need for a safe, secure space to warmly welcome women and children experiencing hunger and homelessness, this family of friends has come together to open Middle Tennessee’s most significant refuge: Nashville Rescue Mission Women & Children’s Campus!
The culmination of three years BUILDING HOPE, the recent opening of the new campus will ensure the feeding and housing of hundreds of moms and kids over the year ahead, providing all those in our care with a path to positive, productive lives in our community—now and in the years ahead.
Not only is the new campus adding space to better accommodate vulnerable guests, it also allows the Mission to expand the services offered to help women and mothers with children move beyond a shelter environment and into independent, sustainable housing.
Here’s a snapshot of what those we serve can look forward to experiencing at the new facility:
- Added beds in emergency services dorms
- Increased number of family rooms
- Expanded kitchen floorplan to adequately accommodate staff and volunteers
- Increased seating capacity in the dining room
- New chapel space with a larger stage and more seating
- Increased restroom and shower capacities
- Improved accessibility for individuals who have mobility impairments
- Additional classroom, office, and meeting spaces
- Increased meeting space for external partners offering “wrap-around” services in housing, education, employment, mental health care, and more
- Increased number of guest lockers for storage
- Brand-new playground, as well as an added play area for older children, so kids of all ages have safe places to play
- Additional safe, private, and secure courtyards
- Enhanced security
- A welcoming main entrance and designated service entrance
- Expanded parking
