Frying turkeys to feed the homeless this Thanksgiving
It’s the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and that can mean only one thing—it’s time for Tracy Lawrence’s Annual “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry at Nashville Rescue Mission.
Since 2006, award-winning singer/songwriter, Tracy Lawrence and a host of his friends have shown up dark and early on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving to fry over 500 turkeys for Nashville’s homeless and hungry.
The 8th Annual “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry takes place on Tuesday, November 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Mission’s parking lot at 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN 37203. The event is free and open to the public, though donations are appreciated.
“Nashville Rescue Mission is a blessing to our community,” says Lawrence. “Each year I am humbled by the outpouring of support from friends who give their time to be part of the Turkey Fry. This special day allows us the opportunity to help raise awareness of the great services the Mission provides everyday to the homeless and those in need.”
It’s one of those events where you never know who you might meet (or bump into). Last year, Titan’s players Rob Bironas, Ryan Mouton, Nate Washington and Jordan Babineaux joined Tracy. Other celebrity fryers included Dave Innis of Restless Heart, The Roys, Titans Cheerleaders, Bucky Covington, Keith Anderson, Chad Warrix and more.
