We asked our friends at Kroger why they support Nashville Rescue Mission. Their answer was simple—because they care.
How did Kroger first get involved with Nashville Rescue Mission?
Kroger has supported Nashville Rescue Mission in some way for many years. We believe in their mission. They not only work hard to meet the basic needs of those they serve, but they offer hope which means so much.
What led Kroger’s decision to support the organization financially?
There are so many ways to support the Mission. Kroger has supported them through cash donations and by donating food. In 2019, when the Mission celebrated 65 years of service to this community, we were excited to celebrate that with them by donating a new boxed truck filled with pallets of food to support their efforts.
Is there a specific aspect of the Mission’s work that attracted Kroger’s support?
We are in the food business so of course we love that the Mission serves meals to those in need. The Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste plan is our commitment to ending hunger in our communities and eliminating waste in the company. Our partnership with the Mission supports that commitment.
Why does Kroger continue to support the Mission?
Nashville Rescue Mission and Kroger have both been a part of the Nashville community for a very long time. We will continue to partner with them, because Nashville needs the Mission. This community and those struggling with homelessness need not only the services the Mission provides, but the hope that comes with it.
