Not Just Water…Living Water

Don Worrell - President and CEORight now, increasing numbers of individuals and families are finding their way to the Mission. They are hungry, thirsty and without a place to call home. No matter who they are, what they believe or what their status may be in life, each person who comes through our doors is welcomed with open arms.

Our vision remains unchanged—following God’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves, we seek to help the hurting of Middle Tennessee by offering food, clothing and shelter to the homeless and recovery programs to those enslaved in life degrading problems. Our goal is to help people know the saving grace of Jesus, and through Him, gain wisdom for living, find fulfillment in life and become a positive part of their community.

So how are we doing this? By the grace of God and the enormous support from someone like you caring deeply about people who have lost their way in life. Your generosity provides meals at the Mission, all summer long. Each plate is served with a friendly smile and a warm greeting. Often, a meal is the first step towards a new life in Christ.

Summer also allows us greater opportunities to go out into the community with our “Hot Patrol.” Once temperatures get above 90, the Mission’s “Hot Patrol” mobilizes—distributing bottles of cold water on the streets of Nashville and keeping a watchful eye for those suffering from heat-related fatigue.

Thank you for remembering us this summer—when the needs of the homeless are as great as during any other time of year.
