Letter from the Mission: Your Support Changes Lives

Don Worrell - President and CEOSince 1954 the Nashville Rescue Mission has offered real solutions to the homeless and desperately needy of Nashville and Middle Tennessee. During the last 25 years I have been blessed to make the ministry of the Mission my career, and honestly, the miracle of rescued lives still continues to amaze me!

I know people like you become supporters of the Nashville Rescue Mission for a great many reasons; to make sure people have safe shelter, nutritious meals, educational training, job training, basic life skills, family counseling, medical care or help in overcoming unhealthy addictions. Yes, people like you give to the Mission because you genuinely care about people.

I also know many of you make a sacrifice in order to help people in great need. The homeless and needy that receive the help you make possible are very grateful! I, also, appreciate the commitment you have exhibited through your faithful support, prayers and contributions.

While we offer a wide range of assistance to everyone who comes to the Mission in need, we do so without, in any way requiring the recipient’s commitment to change his or her life or accept the hope that God offers through Jesus Christ. And although there is no requirement to acknowledge or accept Jesus, we want to unashamedly share that Jesus Christ is able to dramatically transform a life that has been devastated. Sharing Jesus is the very heart of the Nashville Rescue Mission and it is the underlying reason for the Mission’s existence and sustained strength for over 56 years.

I want to thank you for being a part of the family of the Nashville Rescue Mission, and whatever motivates you to help people in great need—you can be sure that your support is accomplishing wonderful things. For this and for you, we continually thank our God!
