“Easter means new beginnings. Just like Christ rose from the dead, I some what have too. My life before was full of living with the dead. Now, I’m alive again. My heart and soul are full of Christ. I have a new life.” –Robert
“Easter for me means that for once in my life, after everything I’ve been through…all the pain I have inflicted upon myself and others…finally there is someone that truly loves me and will never leave me. He proved it by dying on the cross for my sins.” –Elliot
“Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. When He rose from the grave after dying on the cross to pay for my sins, Jesus delivered me from the bondage of addiction. Because of His sacrifice, I have mercy, grace, salvation and the Holy Spirit to lead, guide and direct me in my going out and my coming in. I am far from perfect, but because my Savior Christ Jesus rose from the dead, I am a transformed, new creation in Christ my Lord.” –Sheila
“Easter means new life. A new beginning. Forgiveness for my sins. Unconditional, unbelievable love. Acceptance. Family, both earthly and heavenly. Things I’ve done in my life deserve death. Through Jesus on the cross I only have to experience a physical death, not a spiritual one. To me, Good Friday is a solemn day. A day for reflection on what Jesus went through for you and me. Three days later has a much lighter, happier mood. Jesus came back to life, therefore bringing us back to life in Him. Easter is a time to give thanks for our gift of eternal life.” –Stephanie
“Easter to me is a special day. It is not just about boiling and coloring eggs and candy. It is about Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus being alive is the best news ever! This means He still does His wonderful works in me! Praying and feeling His presence is one of the most warming, comforting times I have. In my addiction I was completely dead to any feelings. I was numb. Not knowing who I was. But now that I am experiencing a personal relationship with Jesus, I am alive just as He is. His resurrection means He is not just a God from 2,000 years ago. He’s my God right now and He walked on water. If Jesus could do wonders and miracles then, He can do them right now. I know He’s doing some in my own life. I am clean and sober 1 year and 4 months.” –Leilani
