Emergency Services

Meeting basic needs. Right here. Right now.

We provide emergency services that meet immediate and practical need for people experiencing homelessness, hunger, disappointment, and regret.

By meeting these most basic and immediate needs, not tied to any expectations, we provide “hope for today” in a nurturing environment that reflects the love of God in tangible ways.

Guests are cared for in a safe, supportive environment where they can find refuge and rest. Once their basic and immediate needs are addressed, case managers work one-on-one with each person to identify next steps, including healthcare and treatment options with a goal of helping them change unhealthy patterns of behavior.

If you or someone you know is in immediate need of food, clothing, or shelter, Nashville Rescue Mission serves three hot meals a day and is open 365 days a year. You are welcome here.

Hot Showers and Personal Hygiene

Restrooms, hot showers and personal hygiene supplies are all available to our guests, including diapers for mothers with children. Find out how you can donate personal hygiene items.

Courtyards/Day Rooms

Enclosed and constantly monitored courtyards and spacious indoor assembly areas provide a safe, environment for hundreds of men, women, and children to spend their daylight hours when environmental factors (too hot, too cold, rain, snow) might otherwise put them at risk.

Case Management

Case managers assess each individual guest to determine their unique circumstances and needs. We then offer them individualized assistance and referrals for employment, housing, substance abuse, recovery, and other services.

Transformative Programs

Based on a person’s individualized development plan, guests may participate in various programs to help them transition out of homelessness and into independent housing. While the options we offer are growing every day, our offerings currently include: Pathways to Work, Guest Volunteer Program, and Worker’s Dorms for late night workers.

Guests have access to a computer lab where there are opportunities to prepare to take the High School Equivalency test, learn computer skills, create their resume, apply for jobs online, and look for housing. Books can be checked out of the library.
