Thanksgiving may still be a month away, but for country singer Tracy Lawrence, the preparations have already begun. He’s shining up his turkey fryers and stocking up on cooking oil and propane gas.
In its 6th year, the Annual “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry, hosted by Tracy Lawrence, is on target to fry over 500 turkeys for the homeless and hungry in Middle Tennessee.
Since launching his “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry, Lawrence and his celebrity friends have donated over 5,000 turkeys, close to 35,000 meals and raised more than $100,000 for the Nashville Rescue Mission.
Celebrity guests preparing food and manning fryers last year included Burns & Poe, Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down, Matt Gary, LoCash Cowboys, The Roys, Lorrie Morgan, Danielle Peck, GAC’s Suzanne Alexander, Bo Bice, Chelsea Field, Jett Williams, Lathan Moore, Glen Templeton and the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders. Most, if not all are planning to return this year, along with a few more surprise guests.
This year’s Turkey Fry is set for Tuesday, November 22, 2011, in the parking lot of the Nashville Rescue Mission at 639 Lafayette Street from 8 am to 5 pm and is open to the public. We hope to see you here!
