Share the Love of Christ this Christmas
Have you ever imagined what it must be like to be homeless? Think about it—no home, no food and no place to go. Now imagine it’s Christmas, you’re homeless and you’re a mom with two little kids.
This is something the Nashville Rescue Mission sees every day. Unfortunately, for many families in the Nashville community, being homeless is a harsh reality. With your help, the Mission makes every effort to create a holiday season that is merry and bright for each and every guest. A traditional Christmas meal with dessert, warm clothing, new gifts and stockings filled with personal care items are provided to those in need.
As you read the prayers and wishes from some of the kids staying at the Mission, notice it’s some of the most basic of things they are praying for—a house, a job for their mom, toys and school—things most people take for granted.
As you head off with your Christmas list to do all your holiday shopping, perhaps you can find some room to add a few items from the Christmas Wish List for those living at the Nashville Rescue Mission. While you might not be able to provide a house or a job, your gift will still provide joy for little hearts in need of hope.
You can make an enormous difference this Christmas in the lives of those who are facing the holiday homeless. Participate in the Mission’s “Present Drive” by dropping off an unwrapped gift at the Donation Center NOW through Wednesday, December 16, 2011. The Mission is looking for over 700 new gifts and needs your help.
The Mission’s Donation Center is located at 616 7th Avenue South and is open Monday – Saturday from 7 am – 7 pm.
