Nashville Rescue Mission Needs 500 Hams for Christmas
Homeless and hungry seeking a traditional Christmas meal are welcome at the Nashville Rescue Mission
NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Nashville Rescue Mission is reaching out to the community for
donations of hams to feed the homeless during the Christmas season. There is currently a need
for 500 hams by Friday, December 21, 2012.
Since 1954, the Nashville Rescue Mission has been serving the homeless and hungry in Middle
Tennessee. Every year, the Mission seeks to provide those in need with a traditional holiday
meal during the Christmas season. This year’s Christmas celebration will be hosted on Monday,
December 24, and Tuesday, December 25, 2012.
“We know there are many who are in need today,” said Glenn Cranfield, President and CEO of
the Nashville Rescue Mission. “It’s not just the homeless who will join us for Christmas dinner.
We’ll see people who are downtrodden and just struggling to get by. There will always be people
in our community who are hungry. Our doors are open to anyone who would like to enjoy a
traditional Christmas meal.”
The Nashville Rescue Mission, along with more than 300 Rescue Missions across the country,
will serve over a half-million meals to the homeless and hungry living in the United States
during the holidays. Additional items needed for Christmas meals include #10 canned
Donations can be dropped off at the Mission’s Donation Center located at 616 7th Ave. S,
Nashville, TN 37203. The Donation Center is open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7
