I have some exciting news to share with you. In the next few weeks, we will be launching a new online, self-service volunteer sign up page on our website.
This will give you the opportunity to sign up for the volunteer positions that are currently open and that best suits your availability. We want signing up to be quick and easy for you.
We also want to make volunteering at the Mission a great experience for everyone.

Volunteers are an essential part of the Nashville Rescue Mission's team. Since 1954, Mission volunteers have helped change lives in every capacity from serving meals and building playgrounds to providing medical care and tutoring to Recovery Program clients.
Online Kitchen Calendar

Men’s Facility
Kitchen (365 days per year)
4:30 am - 7:00 am Breakfast
10:30 am - 1:00 pm Lunch
4:30 pm - 7:00 pm Dinner
We can use up to 15 volunteers to help serve meals during all shifts. Availability depends on time and how many people are already booked.
Warehouse (Monday - Friday)
9:30 am - 12:00 pm
12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Sorting donated items, stocking food pantry, folding and sorting clothing and bed linens. We can use 15 volunteers to serve in the warehouse.
Special Projects (Monday - Friday)
9:30 am - 12:00 pm
12:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Painting, landscaping, laundry, cleaning, sorting & stocking clothing rooms, light construction, etc. We can use up to 25 volunteers to serve on special projects.
Chapel Speakers (365 days per year)
6:30 pm - 7:15 pm (Program Ministry)
6:55 pm - 7:45 pm (Transient Ministry)
8:00 am - 8:45 am (Program Ministry)
Testimonial, evangelism, preaching, song/worship leading.
GED Tutoring (Monday - Friday)
9:00 am - 11:00 am (Men's Mission)
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm (Women's Mission)
Opportunities for literacy tutors, computer tutors (beginner and intermediate) and GED preparation (mainly in Math and Essay writing).
Office/Administration (Monday - Friday)
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Data entry, research, word processing.
We also have volunteer opportunities at our women’s facility. All persons who wish to volunteer for the women’s facility must successfully clear a background check.
