7th Annual Turkey Fry Hosted by Tracy Lawrence & Friends on
November 20th
Launched in 2006, Tracy Lawrence’s “Mission Possible” Turkey Fry has been a huge blessing to the Nashville Rescue Mission and to the homeless in the community. Now in it’s seventh year, the annual Turkey Fry has brought in close to 6,000 turkeys and provided more than 35,000 meals to help the Mission feed the homeless in Middle Tennessee.
This year’s Turkey Fry will take place in the parking lot of the Nashville Rescue Mission—located at 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN, from 8 am to 5 pm. Tracy and friends plan to fry over 500 turkeys for the homeless and hungry during this year’s annual event.
Celebrity guests preparing food and manning fryers last year included 3 Doors Down front man Brad Arnold, Burns & Poe, Restless Heart, American Idol’s Lacey Brown, The Roys, The McClymonts, and Tennessee Titan cheerleaders and football players Rob Bironas and Jordan Babinaeux. Most, if not all are planning to return this year, along with some surprise special guests.
“The Nashville Rescue Mission is a blessing to our community,” says Lawrence. “Each year I am humbled by the outpouring of support from friends who give their time to be part of the Turkey Fry. This special day allows us the opportunity to help raise awareness of the great services the Mission provides everyday to the homeless and those in need.”
This event is made possible through the generosity and support of sponsors who donate money and resources for this annual event. A special thanks to Sam's Club for making a commitment this year to help with the turkey fry by donating 20 new fryers and 500 gallons of oil.
The event is free and open to the public, though donations are appreciated. We hope to see you here!
We’d love to see you at the Turkey Fry, but if you can’t make it, follow @NashvilleRescue on Twitter for updates throughout the day, as well as LIKE the Mission’s Facebook page to see photos of your favorite celebrities frying turkeys.
